Sigma is the leader in the production and distribution of refrigerated and frozen food products in Mexico. In 2004, the company recorded sales of US$1.2 billion equivalent to 488 thousand tons of processed foods.

Sigma is the prevailing company on the Mexican household within its participating markets. The company employs over 20,000 persons. Sigma is part of ALFA since 1980, but its heritage includes leading brands preferred by consumers for more than 50 years.

The company was originally devoted to producing and marketing processed meats, currently spearheading the industry. However, to leverage on synergies resulting from its refrigerated distribution network, as of 1994, the company ventured into other markets such as yogurt, cheese and prepared foods.
